Patreon!
I haven't posted on my Patreon in a while and I kind of gave up on it with no patrons to keep happy. The biggest problem was I was making a committment to something that takes me a lot of motivation and I'm kind of terrible at anyway. I can draw, sure, and even paint, but I'm not so great at drawing comics, at least digitally. Instead, I've been focusing on my store and on my YouTube when I have the time/privacy to record videos. Lately, however, I've also started knitting again. I gave it up in the first place because I had no time, because in high school I couldn't take it to class and had too much homework to settle down and watch TV, but now I have time to knit even when I don't have time to do other things, because I'm able to multitask and the teachers here don't care if I knit in class as long as I'm learning, and I am. Since knitting is so much easier for me than drawing (at least on a screen), I decided to change my focus in the following ways:
- I've started offering knit commissions instead of digital art commissions, alongside traditional art. I have beanies up on my Storenvy, but anything else you want to order (or a different pattern or color on the beanies), you can message me directly (I think Google Plus can do something like that. Right? If not comment).
- I've changed the tiers and rewards on my Patreon so that they support my knitting and singing rather than comics. I'll post a knitting pattern every month, and my videos will show up on Patreon a week before they're visible to the general public on YouTube. Some tiers also get discounts on my commissions, and influence on what yarn I buy.
- I'm going to start up an Etsy once I have enough monthly income from Patreon to cover a few listings (which isn't much, as they're only about 25 cents a listing, but currently I can't commit to even that!), and for every 10 new patrons I get on my Patreon, all of my patrons get to vote for another listing for me to put up.
I hope to see some of you on there!
