Writing vs Texting vs Typing

I graduated recently, and I had a party afterwards. People who went to the party gave me money (which was for some reason a surprise--I thought I'd only get it in cards from family members in other states who felt guilty about not coming), and my sisters in Colorado sent money to my sister here to give to me. The expectation fell upon me to give people thank you notes, except for my sisters, who I could send messages on Facebook. It took a few days, but eventually I got out my phone and sent them a message. The thank you notes I'm still procrastinating on.
"But if you haven't written the thank you notes, how come this is your 5th blog post in the last 24 hours?" Well, the thing is, with some of that money, I was able to get a laptop. It's a little harder to get out than my phone, so I won't be on it all day, but it's a lot easier to start up than anything I could type on before. And I don't know if it's my writer's genes or being raised by older parents who taught me how to use Word but didn't let me have a cell phone until I was 12 or a smartphone until I got a job and could pay for it myself, but I love typing. Now that I have a laptop, I want to write endlessly.
Handwriting is really hard for me. My brain works fast, and my hands work slow. It's easy enough to kind of catch up when I'm typing or texting, but when I have to write out every letter on my own, it's hell. My words get all jumbled, and my hands get tired from trying to keep up with my thoughts. So I don't handwrite things unless I absolutely have to, and then I procrastinate and then I take a long time once I finally have the materials out in front of me. Sometimes I even drift off while I'm writing, and my hands forget to stop because they're still trying to catch up to the last thing I was thinking, so they just write some random stuff that is not at all what I was trying to write.
Texting is better. I can touch each individual letter with my thumbs rather than writing them out, so it takes a fraction of a second to write a whole word. However, this still hurts my hands because all I'm using is my thumbs on a small screen in a weird position. Sometimes I'm scared I'll permanently mess up my hands by texting so much. I also don't like touchscreens because I can't tell the difference between the keys, and they don't move. I do like texting when the keyboard vibrates (stimmy!), but I can't figure out how to do that with my phone and I've been told it's a big waste of battery anyway.
Typing is fun, though. I can type really fast, and I love the sounds it makes and the feel of the keys on my fingers--although sometimes I'm tempted to just press down on one forrrrrrrrrrrrrrr a whillllllllllllllllllllleeeeeee to even out the pressure on my hands if I've been using one side of the keyboard more than the other, or just because I like the feeling. I need some sort of stim toy that feels like keyboard keys...
Anywho, that's why I like typing better than texting and texting better than writing, which is why I'll type about anything but if you want me to handwrite you an essay I will cry. So please don't.
